The Texas notary commission number I had when I became a Texas notary previously is not the same as the notary commission number I received upon renewing my Texas notary commission. Shouldn't the numbers be the same?

Can I apply for my Texas notary commission over the phone?

No. You cannot apply to be a Texas notary or renew you Texas notary commission over the phone. You can apply online on our website. Click 'Become a Notary' or 'Renew Commission' to start the online notary process.

Can I apply online to become a Texas notary public?

Yes! You may apply to become a Texas notary public or renew your Texas notary commission online by using our interactive Texas notary application process!  Please note, you must still print, sign and email or fax your completed Texas notary public application to Budget Notary Bonding Agency.

What payment methods can I use to purchase my Texas notary supplies?

We accept check/money orders as well as credit cards. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, please make it payable to Budget Notary Bonding Agency and send it to the address listed below.  It must be accompanied by a completed order form and/or application packet.

How long does it take to complete the Texas notary process?

You will receive your new commission and notary products within 7-10 days after we have received your completed notary application and payment, and your application is eligible to go to state.

How will my order ship?

When we receive confirmation of your notary commission from the state of Texas, we will manufacture your notary stamp, which you will receive with any other products ordered within 5 to 7 business days via USPS. If you are ordering notary products only, you will receive them via USPS within 5 to 7 business days.

How do I obtain a refund?

If you are not satisfied with your order, please contact Budget Notary Bonding Agency at 866.328.5524 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We want to make sure you are happy. Once the problem is understood, we can determine your options.​

IMPORTANT:  If we cannot process your order within 12 months due to lack of required information from you, we are no longer obligated to fulfill your order and you will not be refunded.​  Of course we will attempt to contact you multiple times during that time in attempt to obtain the required info.

Budget Notary's stamps, seals and embossers are replacement guaranteed for your commission term. If there is an issue due to normal wear (ink replacement not included), we will replace it at no charge. Personalized items are only eligible for refund if the item has a manufacturing error or was damaged upon receipt. If non-personalized items are returned in original condition, we will issue a full refund minus shipping. For online notary training courses, a 100% refund will be issued if the course was never started. For errors & omissions insurance, you will receive a 100% refund if you cancel the policy within 30 days of activation.

It has been a while since I ordered my stamp or embosser. Where is it?

We require additional information prior to manufacturing your Texas notary stamp or embosser​. Please verify you have submitted a copy of your Texas notary commission certificate to us. Once we receive the required information, your seal will be shipped within 2-3 business days. What information do I need to submit in order to get my Texas notary stamp or Texas notary seal?

Texas notary stamps and Texas notary embossers require commission verification before they are manufactured. We customize your Texas notary stamp or Texas notary seal with the information shown on your commission paperwork. If you are currently bonded though Budget Notary Bonding Agency, we have your Texas notary information on file. If you are new to us, welcome! We need a copy of your Texas notary commission certificate before we can process your order. Please send a copy of your commission certificate to Budget Notary Bonding Agency via e-mail, fax or mail.

Yes, your commission number as a Texas notary public should not change.  If you receive a new stamp/seal and the number has changed from your previous stamp/seal; please contact our Customer Service department at 866.328.5524 to resolve the problem.

My employer paid for my notary commission and supplies, can they keep them?

No! You are a public official appointed by the Secretary of State. Your seal and certificate are tools of your public office. Even if your employer purchased your Texas notary commission and supplies, they have no legal right to keep these tools from you. Never surrender control of your Texas notary stamp and/or certificate to anyone.
